Fiber Digging Information Letter

Dear Parkshore Homeowners,

You may have noticed utility marking flags and paint throughout our neighborhood over the past several days. We want to share what we know and point you to helpful resources.

**What’s happening:** A telecommunications company is preparing to install fiber-optic lines throughout Parkshore. This will involve trenching approximately three feet deep, primarily within existing utility easements along lot lines. Per Orange Township, this is not a Township or Delaware County project — it is private utility work happening within easements that already exist on our properties.

**Who to contact for questions:** The Township has directed residents to contact the carriers directly. The most likely carrier based on current central Ohio activity is altaFiber, though the others may also be involved:

– altaFiber: (513) 565-9890

– AT&T: (800) 288-2020

– Frontier: (800) 921-2101

– AEP: (800) 672-2231

**Your rights as a homeowner:**

– You still own the land within the easement; the utility has only a right of access for its specific purpose.

– Ohio law requires the excavator to notify Ohio 811 (OUPS) at least 48 hours before digging, which is why you’re seeing the marks now.

– Work should be confined to the easement area. Any disturbed ground must be restored.

– If your landscaping, sprinklers, invisible fencing, or other property is damaged, document it (photos, written description) and file a claim directly with the carrier.

**What you can do now:**

1. Photograph your yard before work begins, especially near property lines.

2. Mark or temporarily remove anything valuable within the easement (invisible dog fence wires, low-voltage lighting, decorative items).

3. Call 811 or visit oups.org to request a free “locate” if you want the actual utility line locations marked on your property.

**What the HOA is doing:** The Board is reaching out to the carriers to confirm the project timeline, contractor information, and restoration standards, and will share what we learn. We will also monitor impact to Common Property (entrance landscaping, common greens, and retention areas) .

If you have information to share with the Board — a door hanger from a carrier, a marked construction schedule, or damage concerns — please reach out at parkshoretrustees@parkshorehoa.org. We’ll keep the community updated as we learn more.

Thank you,

Parkshore HOA Board

Fiberoptic Installation

We just got word today (4/16/26) that Delco is finishing up marking utilities in the neighborhood for the upcoming fiberoptic cable installation that will be taking place. The first of four phases is beginning as soon as this weekend and will involve digging 3′ deep trenches for the cables. Advance notification for the digging is apparently not a requirement, so please be aware of this imminent disruption that will be taking place starting soon in the neighborhood and lasting several months. If and when we hear more, we will be sure to update.

Parkshore HOA Board Meeting Minutes December 1, 2021 7pm

Members in attendance were: Jason Jarrell (president), Carol Conklin (vice president), Frances Catanese(trustee), Mike Carsner(trustee) and Stephanie Smith (secretary).

Refiling of current liens were discussed. We are in contact with our attorneys to make sure this is done correctly.

The board also discussed a few new family friendly activities to add to our calendar over the next year. One being the Easter egg hunt, another being a bike parade for the 4th of July, also a family turkey trot and lastly the neighborhood hayride!

Our luminary walk will be held on Saturday, December 18th at 6pm with a rain date for the 19th at the same time. This year we will have hot cocoa and cookie stations! One on Greeley, Spinnaker and Buckman. I believe Santa will even make an appearance at the Buckman station! If you can, please light your luminaries at 5:30pm. Otherwise, the board will make sure they are all lit on time! We will drive around and make sure they’re lit before the walk starts. Also, if possible, please dispose of the luminaries the next morning. Again, if not, we will be around to make sure they’re cleaned up.

It was also discussed to order a new sandwich board for Spinnaker. It was approved and purchased. Also purchased were more bows and ribbon to place on the poles for Christmas.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:16pm.
