Dear Parkshore residents our group shut off for irrigation is scheduled for this Saturday October 22. If you need to be added to the list call Frances @ 740-816-1464.

Mike and Jeanne Chiappi are once again sponsoring a fun hayride through the neighborhood on October 29th from 11-2. (Rain date October 30th 11-2. ) Mike will drive around all the streets and pick you up in front of your house. Mike will bring you to Highgate place for cookies, treats and apple cider. Adults must ride with their children and all are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes . If you live on Spinnaker please drive over to the Lewis center entrance as the tractor is not permitted on Lewis Center road. We hope to see you there.

Dear Parkshore residents

As we move into the fall weather we would like to address a few housekeeping items.

Property Changes: If you plan on making any changes to your property, please remember everything must be pre-approved through the design review board. Adhering to this process helps maintain our high standards and property values. The application can be downloaded directly from this link.

Mailboxes: Several mailboxes need to be replaced or stained with the correct color. We will be sending notices to residents whose mailboxes do not comply with the standards. The HOA board provides stain kits free of charge to help you with this. Contact any trustee to arrange for a kit.

Gas Lamps: Several residents have asked about converting their gas lights to electric. This is permitted as long as they look the same. Specialty Gas House has the correct conversion kits as well as replacement parts. Specialty Gas is located at 4500 Indianola Ave Columbus 43214 and are open Mon.-Sat. The phone number is: 614-261-0824.

Irrigation Winterization and Core Aeration: Our date for the group irrigation winterization is Saturday, October 22. Anyone who is available during the week and would like to schedule the service for a weekday call 1-800-578-1913 ext 3. You will still be eligible to receive the group rate as long as you let them know that you live in Parkshore. Scheduling during the week will cut down on the wait time.

The group rate on Core Aeration is also available. Simply remember to let the tech know you want the aeration service so that your sprinkler heads can be marked during winterization. Dog fences are the owners responsibility to have marked so lines are not cut by the aerator.

Directory Information: This is the last call to change any information for the Parkshore directory. If we do not have your current information we will print what is published on the Delaware County Website.

Please also remember as it gets darker earlier to drive slowly through the neighborhood as it is more difficult to see kids playing and people walking.

Reviewed overgrowth in common area to right of private drive at the end of Buckman Street. Michael Henn will get quotes to have this area cleared as it is obstructing water flow in culvert.

Frances expressed concerns with delays when approvals are submitted to the design review board. It was recommended and approved that a board member will chair the design review board.

Discussed outstanding invoices. Property Management handling.

Frances discussed cost and repairs of retention pond to aerator and fountain.

Road pavement condition of Westwick Street was discussed. Michael Henn will take photos and submit to township board.

Good turnout for Flamingo Fridays on Westwick and Buckman Streets. Last Flamingo Friday is August 12 on Highgate.

Reviewed estimates for entrance landscaping. Board will meet with landscaper at site for additional detail.

Entrance rocks will be repaired.

Parkshore entrances will be maintained to include weeding, mulching and power washing of rocks. Suggestions was made to replace trees at the Waukeegan entrance to Parkshore. Michael Henn will obtain quotes. Michael will also obtain a quote to have the wall repaired.

Discussion regarding the maintenance of the cul-de-sac. Landscaper was notified that they will need to notify Michael Henn if there is an issue with maintaining. We do not want residents cutting.

Pond maintenance is needed. Fountain only working on one end. There appears to be a smell resulting from stagnate water. Board discussed need for Aqua Docs to treat the pond.

Discussion regarding spraying for mosquitos/moths. Frances will follow-up with the Park Director.

Michael Pierce will make up additional mailbox stain kits and distribute 5 pints to each of the board members.

No additional business was discussed and the meeting adjourned at 8:45pm.

Spring Newsletter

Dear Parkshore Residents Spring is finally here and hopefully Summer is just around the corner. Congratulations to all the families with seniors that recently graduated. We wish them the best as they start their next journey.

We will participate with the Shores Garage Sale on Friday June 3rd and Saturday June 4th. We will place an ad in the paper but you also may want to tie balloons to your mailbox for visibilit .

Flamingo Friday will be on the second Friday each month. Friday June 10 Westwick Place, Friday July 8 Buckman Street, Friday August 12 Highgate Place.

We have recently had many new residents move in and many more will be moving in so please extend the invitation to join us.

With the many new additions we will be printing an updated directory . Please submit any new phone numbers or information to the webmaster by August 1.

The Trustees have purchased additional stain kits for the mailboxes please evaluate your mailbox to see if it needs to be replaced or stained. Contact any trustee for stain. If you need a replacement Rousch hardware in Westerville actually carries our mailbox and offers a better price than Cedar Craf . We also get a discount at Ohio Mulch just mention Parkshore when purchasing. If anyone would like to plant flowers at either entrance please contact me and I will purchase them for you.

We hope you enjoy the summer. Please remember with the children out of school to slow down. The speed limit is 25 but always take into consideration all pedestrians have the right of way.

2016 Parkshore Annual Meeting

Meeting opened at 10:05am – in attendance were 9 homeowners of Parkshore.

Frances thanked Steve Ginter for his continued help with the financial aspects of the HOA. She also thanked Jamie Stabl who has continued to provide support with the pond, the planting of flowers etc.

Next, Steve Ginter provided a financial update detailing the actual to budget expenses for 2015 and providing the 2016 budget. Once again, the board agreed that the current dues are sufficient to maintain the property and provide for unexpected expenses.

Frances made the group aware that 3 positions were up for renewal, Frances Catanese, Carol Conklin and Amy Lloyd, and that Amy Lloyd would not be running for her position as Secretary again. Donna Tomaro was the only individual who expressed interest in running for the position. Steve Catanese nominated Donna and Mike Chiappi seconded the motion. There were no other nominations or volunteers so vote was by show of hands and unanimous for Donna to assume the vacant position. The positions for Carol and Frances also had a unanimous vote to be retained.

Michael Henn gave an update on the Landscaping bid for 2016. He obtained detailed quotes from three companies and the lowest cost provider was our current Landscaping Company at $4,477.99, which was equal to his 2015 price. Michael has already address the need to keep a close eye on the weed situation for this year and expressed concerns to Dale, the owner that extra attention needs to be paid to the common areas and islands.

Frances reviewed the pole that was hit at the corner of Waukeegan and Montclair and was leaning. Mike Norton, homeowner fixed it temporarily but in the spring the HOA will ensure that it is completely fixed, filling in dirt if needed.
One homeowner expressed concerns about the fading of the stop signs throughout the neighborhood. Frances will contact he township to see what can be done to repair or replace the signs.

Another homeowner asked if the township would be spraying for mosquitoes this year and if not suggested that the board spend some of the current funds to spray. Another homeowner also indicated that we should spray for gypsy moths this year as they are expected to be very bad.

Frances agreed to contact the township and investigate if they will be spraying or if the HOA has the ability to spray.
Frances also indicated that typically in addition to the summer events, we hold a wine party in the first few months. The HOA provides all of the paper produces and each person brings a dish to pass and wine.  If you are interested in hosting the wine party in the next few months this year, please contact any of the trustees.

Final business:
Michael Henn has created more welcome kits and need to get a list of all the new homeowners for the last 3 months so he can deliver kits. These kits provide a wealth of information about the community and the HOA. Steve Ginter will provide any names/addresses he has received along with the rest of the board. If you are new to our community and have not received a kit, contact Michael Henn via the website.

Winter Newsletter

Dear Parkshore Residents,

I believe winter has arrived and I feel very fortunate that we did not get the snow accumulation that other places did. It is that time of year to have our annual meeting. The meeting will be held at the Orange Township hall on Saturday February 6th at 10 am. There will be open trustee positions and, if you are interested, please email one of the current trustees with a letter of intention. Our dues will again remain at $125.00 and will be mailed out from the management company. The payment will be due by March 1 to avoid any late fee. Please mail all payments directly to:

Fall Newsletter

Dear Parkshore Residents ,
I think we can officially say goodbye to the short summer as fall is definitely here.

Parkshore will again have a hayride sponsored by Jeanne and Mike Chiappi on Saturday October 24 from 11am–2pm. Children and adults are welcome to dress in their costumes and the tractor will be around to pick you up. The tractor cannot travel on Lewis Center Road so if you live on Spinnaker please drive over to any street and we will pick you up and take you to the Chiappi home on Highgate Place for cider and cookies.

Orange Township has scheduled Trick or Treat for Thursday October 29th from 6-8pm. Please use extra caution when driving as the kids will be very excited and running from house to house.

Parkshore will again partner with Hidden Springs Irrigation to offer a group discount for winterization and aeration. Winterization and Aeration will be $55 for each service. The aeration price is calculated on an average size lot of 7500 square feet. If you have a corner lot you will need to get pricing individually.

Our group winterization shut off date is Saturday October 17.

If you are doing aeration only you will need to pre-pay as they will return another day to aerate and you will not need to be home for that to be done. Invisible Dog fences must be marked as Hidden Springs Irrigation will not be responsible for any cut lines that are not marked. Michael Henn noted that he will need to make several more welcome kits with all of the new home owners and homes for sale. The board discussed the need to reprint the directory and agreed that one reprinting per year would be done during annual dues/meeting time.

Discussion regarding several homes with improvements that have not been submitted to the Design board – Carol, as representative of both board and Design review board will send the list of currently approved projects to the Trustees. Board agreed to have the Management company send violation letters to any unapproved projects.

Discussion regarding the letter sent by a homeowner who recently received a violation letter regarding removal of his lamp post. Board reviewed the Declarations and Covenants and will have the Management company respond.

Michael Peirce distributed more mailbox stain kits and noted that many homeowners have sought stain. The board agreed to conduct the annual inspection of mailboxes and send letters to homeowners who need to repair, replace or paint their mailbox.

Michael Peirce noted that Specialty Gas House, (614) 261-0824 has parts and mantles for the gas lamps. He had a few homeowners ask for the contact. Board agreed to post their information to the website.

Board discussed need for Aqua Docs to treat the pond. All agreed this should be done and are pleased with the significant reduction in treatments needed due to the new filters.

Michael Henn noted that it was time to send a bid request for landscaping and would like the placement of mulch detailed better by the current provider. It was noted that one of the stone on the wall was slightly out of place. The board members agreed that we would address in the coming week.

Discussion regarding Management company and their recommendation to have a review done of the complete Declarations and Covenants by an attorney as they are now 20 years old and may have elements that could conflict with State or local laws. Board agreed and Frances will contact the two suggested attorneys provided by the Management Company.

There is still an issue with drainage at the entrance noted by Matt from Hidden Springs, who takes care of the sprinkler systems. He will check with Del-Co water if it is not dry in the next several days as there may be an issue they will need address.
